Before you can sell someone anything, they must be in the mood to shop. Let us compare a Supermarket to a 7-Eleven Store. When we are looking to buy a bottle of milk from 7-Eleven, we walk up to the milk section, pick up a bottle, walk up to the counter to pay and leave. 7-Eleven is all about convenience and they have been successful by not confusing themselves with a Supermarket.
On the other hand when we go into a Supermarket to buy the same bottle of milk we walk out with a basket full of groceries. This is because a Supermarket uses its product displays and choices to turn us into shoppers who purchase more products than we intended to buy.

How should I price my vehicles
in an email?

One question comes up when training dealerships almost every time, and it should. There is a tremendous amount of strategy when thinking through what and how to price your vehicles in an email.
If you price your vehicles too high, you will lose your potential customer to the competition. If you price your vehicles too low, you will get caught in a low ball and it still might not get the potential customer to visit your dealership. If you don't answer the potential customer at all, then you are sure to lose the customer and the deal. We tend to label that salesperson who decides not to answer the potential customer a SPM (Sales Prevention Manager).

Many dealers ask me if they should use a pop-up or pop-behind web coupon on the website. I was at a dealership client in Delaware last week and asked the IT guy if he was going to use one and he said no. When he visits websites he hates them and would not want to subject his customers to them either. I understand where he is coming from and empathize with his thoughts. However, there is a place for pop-ups and pop-behinds in our market and they can be powerful, if used properly. Here are some do's and don'ts to think about.
